Gamakatsu A1 carp hook for carp fishing This is the Japanese version of the famous European hook “G-CARP A1 Specialist.” It brings the quality of the Specialist series with adaptations for the Japanese market and professional carp fishing. The technology: What is A1 material? Regular hooks are often made of carbon steel. Gamakatsu’s A1 hooks are made of a special compound that includes Vanadium and Tungsten. A1 material: The hook is made of Gamakatsu’s unique A1 material (vanadium and tungsten compound), which gives it tremendous strength while maintaining light weight. Nano Smooth Coat Coating: A highly advanced coating (Gamakatsu patent) that reduces friction to almost zero, allowing for incredibly fast and smooth penetration (“Hooking Performance”) even with delicate touches. Strength: This material is 20% stronger than regular steel. This means that it is possible to produce a thinner and lighter hook that will be as strong as a thick and heavy hook. Hardness: The point remains sharp much longer (“Harder point”), even after dragging on gravel or rocks at the bottom.
