IJSSELSTEIN, IJSSELPOORT, DUTCH TOPOGRAPHY, CITY GATE, DUTCH DRAWING | PCO-B11- BACKGROUND INFORMATION After a drawing by Dirk Verrijk, related to an earlier view of the IJsselpoort at IJsselstein and comparable to the print by Abraham Rademaker (c. 1725) based on a design dated 1630. Biography artist: Dirk Verrijk was an 18th-century Dutch draughtsman known for topographical views. His drawings often depict towns, city gates and landscapes in the Netherlands and were sometimes based on earlier sources. Works of this type were frequently included in topographical collections such as the Atlas Coenen van ‘s-Gravesloot.
